Let’s equal the playing field.
The mission
This icon looks like a scroll but represents what was traditionally known as a deed. Deeds conferred legal rights, obligations and (ownership) interests. Knowing how to understand and read that deed required special and exclusive expertise.
We’d like to think Law in Schools can play a part in sharing what’s on that deed to all young people, regardless of their background. We believe in legal literacy for all because if young people have more knowledge, they can make better informed decisions, positioning them for better life outcomes.
Having legal knowledge is the equaliser
Hi, it’s me, Danielle.
Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Criminal Justice (Criminology), Graduate Diploma of Divinity, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
Danielle has a background in criminal justice and law and is a practising lawyer.
She is passionate about making the law accessible and is always ready to help others find the right help. She has always had a big love for social justice and minority groups that are disadvantaged particularly when it comes to the law and education. She has worked in refugee law, human resources, women led startups and investment and corporate governance in various capacities giving her broad career and life experience to share.
She loves cute things, a side of gaming, swimming, cooking, and has a new hobby each month (currently it’s fixing secondhand furniture).
There’s Daniel too.
At the moment, we are the ultimate team. Daniel is the logistics, collaborator and consultant.
He has over 10 years’ experience in secondary teaching and management. He always looks to give students his time, the balance of discipline and compassion and the opportunities to make better choices. He wants them to have every chance to be informed and succeed in the real world.
Daniel is an allrounder, but mostly enjoys a boardgame, e-sports (it’s a real thing), eating and sport, again. He has a big heart for serving his local community and has spent a couple of years in Korea exploring language and serving opportunities. What a nice guy!
Currently he is at Law in Schools offering his experiences and expertise of the education landscape and current issues facing young people.
